On behalf of the dedicated men and women of the Lake George Volunteer Fire Department, I welcome you to our website. The LGVFD is an all volunteer department which strives to provide the highest level of service possible to the citizens, businesses, and visitors of Lake George. Our firefighters are committed to providing the highest quality of emergency and non-emergency response. We spend a great deal of time training, maintaining our equipment, and fund raising for new equipment to ensure the services we provide are the best they can be.

News from the Lake George Volunteer Fire Dept.
The Lake George Volunteer Fire Department was established to serve both the residents in the Village and the Town of Lake George. It is a well supported and well equipped department, trained and ready to meet the needs of the citizens of the Town and Village. Those interested in becoming part of the organization would be welcomed.
President Tom Mckinney Message
As President of the organization I would welcome you to our
web page and invite you to visit our new home if you are in the area. We moved
into our new station in April of 2009 and officially became the owners later
that year. We are proud of what the community has provided for us. With the
help of your donations we have completed the areas of the building that the
company was responsible to finish. This was completed this spring when the
vertical blinds were installed.
The membership is involved in much more than fire
protection to the community. We work with the school district, the Boy and Girl
Scouts, the senior citizens, the American Legion and other civic organizations
such as the Rotary Club to make the quality of life in our area better.
Currently
the company is gearing up for the Hudson Valley Fireman’s Association’s Parade
on Saturday the 19th of June. This will be a new venture for Hudson
Valley as well as the Fire Company. This year the convention is actually hosted
by the Association, and the Dress Parade will be hosted by the Fire Company.
This is just one of the many examples where the company works to help maintain
the largest industry in our community, tourism!
Mission Statement
The Lake George Fire Department is proud of
its history, and serves the residents of and visitors to, the Town
and Village of Lake George with the following objectives in mind:
- To provide the best possible protection to
the residents of the Town and Village of Lake George and the surrounding communities under the Mutual Aid Plan and as
set forth in the Standard Operating Procedures of this
department.
- To provide fire protection, fire inspection
and fire safety education services to our community.
- To foster interest in all matters
pertaining to the volunteer service and to promote the welfare
and social advances of all volunteer firefighters.
- To inculcate love of country, good
citizenship, civic virtue and self sacrifice, and to perpetuate
the spirit, which from the early days has actuated volunteer
fireman in the rendition of service of the highest type in the
protection of life and property from fire without hope of fee or
reward.
- To promote the improvement and advancement
of the Lake George community and its residents.
